About this Presenter
Mimie Laurant is a Baton Rouge, LA native and Third Culture Kid with nearly 20 years of youth development experience in various settings. She has been a certified Secondary English as Social Studies teacher in Baton Rouge, LA, New Orleans, LA, and Baltimore County, MD. Mimie obtained a Master's of Education - Curriculum & Instruction from Concordia University - Portland in 2017.
Currently, Mimie serves as the Education Coordinator for the Louisiana Environmental Action Network, where she is the primary writer and editor of their K-12 environmental justice curriculum - People, Place & Power. She is also an education consultant specializing in curriculum development and data analytics. This Fall, this will begin a Master's in Informatics at University of Louisiana - Lafayette.
Outside of education, Mimie Laurant is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., is an avid reader, and loves to cook and attend concerts and festivals through South Louisiana.
