Improving Communication with Better Charts and Graphs

In this workshop, we will explore the differences between good and bad charts, and the elements that make a good visualization.

Chris Smith has extensive experience in data visualization and will guide you through the theory and context of this field. After some exploration, Chris will walk you through his revisions of a chart and the exact process he would go through to make it better. This includes considering the context in which the visualization will be used and making thoughtful design choices. We will also cover how to declutter charts, use color and highlighting effectively, and tell a story with data.
