Leveraging Discipline & Restorative Justice Data to Improve School Culture & Climate
A Session by Ilana Walden (Forest Zafran Consulting)
About this Session
This interactive presentation will provide schools and districts an opportunity to learn best practices and strategies for collecting and analyzing discipline and restorative practice data and reflect on their own practices and opportunities for improvement. Specifically, participants will:
1) Through a guided protocol, audit their current discipline and restorative justice data collection and analysis procedures to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
2) Receive an example discipline and restorative justice data analysis protocol.
3) Walk through how to use the data protocol to identify high impact actions that will improve school culture and climate; particularly for subgroups of students who may be disproportionately receiving discipline referrals and/or consequences.
4) Learn best practices for documenting, collecting and analyzing restorative justice data.
5) Reflect on how they can adapt what has been shared in the workshop to their own school and district settings.
